Backstory: This song was birthed for a morning prayer time when I was prompted by Holy Spirit to dive into the Psalms. Everyone goes directly to Psalm 91, which is still a fantastic message of encouragement, but I was directed back a few chapters. I was in Psalm 87 and the first line in my bible (NLT) was, "On the holy mountain". This triggered a memory of the story in 1st Kings chapter 19 about Elijah against the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Immediately, I was struck with a melody so I turned on my keyboard and got to work. This is the result of that morning.

Hello there! Thank you so much for watching my lyric video for my new single Wake Up! Devil's Lullaby.
This song was inspired by two factors. First, I was tired of watching those around me stumbling around oblivious to the realities of the world we live in and the entrapment of the world's system. I wanted some way to break them out of their zombified state back to glorious life and hopefully this song helps start that process. Second, I found a song of the same name (Devil's Lullaby) and I wanted to turn a secular song into something that glorifies Jesus Christ.

I decided to feature my friend Spencer West in it. Spencer has just finished an incredible climb up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and financial support for clean water projects in Africa.

Spencer is a true hero who knows how to "redefine his possible" every day. I wrote this song in tribute to humanity, as I believe we are all capable of triumphing over whatever obstacle life brings. The spirit indestructible is in all of us. People like Spencer have proven this to me.
