While Western medicine still focuses on steroids to treat eczema and other skin disorders which have side effects over long term use, Hong Kong TCM practitioner Dr Yuen Oi-lin has ..."successfully treated many cases of severe eczema without the use of steriods" (Epoch Health, Jan 16, 2023).
This is good news for patients with eczema who have tried conventional medical treatments with no real cure or relief. Perhaps conventional medicine is too focused on the symptoms rather than the root cause. It seems more and more people are turning to integrative medicine with very good results. In this case several TCM therapies have worked out well for patients with eczema. I have eczema myself and am looking forward to trying some of these traditional approaches and alternate therapies without the use of steroids.
There are many ways to heal and more and more I'm learning in my second half of life that natural remedies and Nature itself is the way to heal completely; getting at the root cause rather than putting a 'band-aid' to cover or mask the symptoms.
