Clinical Care for Autistic Adults

With Dr. Christopher McDougle

Director of the MGH Lurie Center for Autism

Clinical Care for Autistic Adults is a free, 4-hour CME course designed by HMS faculty and leading autism care experts. Designed to explain what it means to provide autism-competent care, the course also explores how some medical conditions present differently in autistic patients.

Adult Autism Health Resources (AAHR) is a patient and family website that draws on the clinical course's wisdom, providing information, tools, and resource links to assist autistic patients and their caregivers at key points in the adult lifespan. AAHR gives specific advice on health conditions common in autistic adults and provides tools for understanding and communication about those conditions.

Both the course and the website are packed with videos, downloadable tools, and external links that educate, guide and empower clinicians and patients alike.
