Great idea, work on the old things in your freezer.
We had 2 bags of frozen fish in the freezer that we never thought to cook. it would be going bad soon, so why not take it out and can it for quick meal prep. in this video I canned 2 lbs of frozen Cod that I let thaw in the fridge. if you have canned Cod or Salmon before leave me some recipe ideas in the comments below.Thanks for watching!

I've wanted to pressure can some beef roast for a while. It's such an easy quick snack, especially on those cold winter days when you just won't feel like cooking much. Our local grocery store had Chuck Roasts on sale "buy one, get one free" the other day, so I asked Rachel if she would help me learn the basics. I've watched her pressure can quite a few times, but this time was my first time. It's really not that hard. If you're afraid, just give it a go! If you're still got questions, throw them down in the comments, and we'll be happy to share our homesteading knowledge with you.

Having healthy, home-cooked meals on the table each night is definitely a goal of mine. But that doesn't mean I actually have the TIME each day to make this happen.
Homesteading is tough work, and some nights all I can do is pop open a jar of homemade canned stew, heat it up in a pot, and serve it alongside a salad and some homemade bread.
But you know what? We're all so happy with this "convenience" meal!

These addictive chocolate chip cookies feature a sprinkle of salt to really push them over the top. They’re easy to make, healthy, and completely delicious - people won’t even know how healthy they are.
Dr. G’s Salty Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 ¼ cups blanched almond flour
½ cup coconut flour
½ tsp sea salt + more for sprinkling
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp xanthan gum
⅔ cup grass-fed butter or coconut oil
¾ cup swerve (Sugar Replacement)
1 egg
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup chopped bittersweet chocolate
½ cup shelled pistachios
Preheat oven to 350. Line a sheet tray with parchment. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, and set aside.
In a mixer, or in a bowl with a hand mixer, whip together the butter and swerve until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Add egg and vanilla continue to combine, for another minute.
Add chocolate and pistachios and fold to combine.
Roll dough into 12 balls, and flatten slightly on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and bake 12-18 minutes before serving.

Drying herbs by hanging them is the method used for thousands of years, but knowing when to harvest them is key for the strongest medicinal properties. Plus, a few ways to dehydrate them if you don't have enough hanging space, and when I will use a dehydrator vs. the hanging method. Most important how to store your herbs properly after they're dried.

I show you how to make an anti-fungal spray from baking soda. It effectively works to prevent and stop fungi from spreading. It will not kill off established fungi on leaves. Those leaves should be removed. It is effective against Powdery Mildew, Early Blight, and other similar problems. I also give you tips on using it and ALWAYS test the spray before you cover a garden vegetable plant with any new spray.

Flip-flops are one of the oldest styles of shoes in the world, and today they are the most popular. We make over 1 billion of them every year, and one company in Kenya turns these old sandals into colorful works of art.
It is a simple project that could easily feel complicated if you were doing it under pressure in a stressful emergency. So go outside and play with some old bricks in the backyard. Cook a quick meal and enjoy the simple adventure of it....(leave your cell phone inside the house and it will become even more enjoyable. I promise! :)) This is just one of many ways to make emergency preparedness fun. Please use caution and know there is risk involved with fire.

Grocery Row Gardening is a permaculture gardening method developed by David The Good. It is an agroforestry garden on a backyard scale, creating a food forest under control by putting it into rows. It uses elements from Stefan Sobkowiak's Permaculture Orchard, Andrew Millison's edible hedges, Geoff Lawton's food forest systems, Ernst Goetsch's Syntropic Agriculture, Ann Ralph's Grow a Little Fruit Tree and lots of my own innovation, creating a food garden that overflows with life. I consider it my backyard emergency food supply, as well as a place of joy and beauty.
Join local Knowledge Keepers from the community of Pine Creek in the harvesting of medicines such as wihkes, sweetgrass and sage. As well as balsam and poplar bark or “kidney medicine”!
Stanford and his family carry a rich history and knowledge of over 40 plants and medicines. They share about the preliminary and preparatory stages, protocols associated with the medicines, the seasons, as well as the uses of the medicines in an extensive network of sharing and trading.
