Let's quickly look at the pages I've added to my journal, then add lace trim to some of the page edges. (Sorry about the vertical orientation. I don't know what happened.)

Let's talk about digital kits (digikits): What are they? How do I use them? I asked Melodi about how she made these pages. This is what she wrote: "The images are vintage botanical drawings. The background is ecodyed paper, I grabbed foliage on my beach retreat and came home and boiled it with the paper then dried it, scanned it in and voila!It’s awesome because it’s unique💗" I agree!!
What's a design team (DT)? That's just a group of people who have been given a work by an artist and asked to "do their thing" with it, to help others imagine how they might be able to use it. It's always fun and inspiring to look at the various design team videos. You can see how one kit can be used completely differently by various people and each person adds their own personality to it, along with items from their already existing stash.
I'm working on a separate series for new junk journalers, and will show you in that series how I gather extra images from various places, work on these things on Canva, make easier changes on GoogleDocs, etc. This will be a separate series sometimes later. If you have particular questions about anything about junk journal creating, please feel free to write those below. That will give me time to plan for those questions in that series ... and get answers if I don't know.

I don't have a lot of time, but I want to make a simple journal for a friend. Although I'm making this for a guy, you could easily make it for a girl or a woman by simply changing the colors. I'm going to fill this with blank coffee-dyed paper and bind it with leather.

I'm just using a bunch of coffee-dyed pages. You can use pages you've printed or scrapbook paper ... or even junk mail that you've painted some gesso over. Easy peasy!

Something you can put together super easily and quickly from junk mail envelopes.
Do you have tasks you do each day that require specific webpages? Why not set your browser to open them all at once, first thing when you log in? Really easy. I'm not a techie and I can do this! Let me show you how!If you want to rearrange the things you have opening each day, just open your browser so it automatically brings them up as usually. Click on the tabs you want to move to a different order and move them. Then go into settings, scroll down, and choose "Use current pages."If something in this video doesn't make sense to you, let me know and I'll explain it a different way.

My father passed away in February 2022. This was recorded in 2019 while my parents were traveling across the US for my mom's prayerwalk.

I've been gathering a lot of American Civil War materials, and I have a lot for the Revolutionary War as well. I'm interested in lots of aspects of history, so if you'd like me to make something for you, please contact me.

Thomas Jefferson's rough draft of the Declaration of Independence??? OMG! Note that with each image is a very well-organized description which includes any copyright restrictions, etc.

Whether you're looking for ideas to make your own geneological junk journal or have me make one for you, I would recommend having a theme of just one or two people or a particular generation, rather than trying to make something for your entire family tree. However, I'm always up for a new challenge.

This is my Mother's Day present for my mom and goes with the tribute I taped while making it. (Do we tape things anymore? What's the correct verb for that??) Please note that this was actually taped in 2019, but I thought it would be fun to share this with you-all as an example of a junk journal with less ... junk. By the way, this is part of the genre of junk journaling: The flip through. In it, you get to see a finished journal (which you may have watched being made if tutorials were provided) and the journal artist (me) explains what each part is for, how it can be used, and what on earth they were thinking when they did certain things.

It's very unique. The cover is hand-painted and hand-torn. Just a little more that wasn't mentioned in this video. On top of everything else, I was diagnosed with very serious diabetes in April. I've worked hard on it and in July had brought my A1c down by 3.4 points. I still have quite a way to go in that area as well as several others, including very limited mobility and a stressful life. You can see my personal updates for more information. I hope that I've encouraged you about the importance of taking care of yourself -- spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically.
