We're going to look at some Scriptures today and also talk about a spiritual exercise you can use to renew your mind, from the lies you've believed, to the truths God tells you through Scripture.

Scriptures used in this video:
Matthew 25:14-30
Isaiah 61:1-3
Romans 12:1-2
I Corinthians 12:14

Here's the song from Isaiah 61: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q5k6uPMxv4 (I've always sung it considerably faster.)

Please remember to keep your remarks respectful and uplifting. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights within those parameters. The more you share, the better this study will be for all of us!

This is the book that we're using: Now It Will Spring Forth. You can get the free e-book version of the novel here: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/es49ch5nyr If you prefer a paperback copy, that's here: https://amzn.to/3wRVnim The workbook for the study can be found here: https://amzn.to/3lKNNj2 or feel free to just write in your notebook or journal.

Love and Blessings to all of you,

Let's talk about the verse the title of the book comes from.

Scriptures used in this video:
Isaiah 43, especially verses 18 & 19

If you're journaling, write about each of the verses we talk about. Ask God to show you how they apply to your life. (More on that later.)

Great Is Thy Faithfulness (Lyrics): https://www.hymnal.net/en/hymn/h/19

Here it is with the music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V3_vymvBvk By the way, some places say it's by Carrie Underwood. She has sung it, but did not write it. It's been around for almost 100 years.

The story of one of the fires at Westmont begins on page 25 here. I'm not sure if it's the one I was talking about, though. It's missing elements from Dr Winter's story that I think are important. However, Dr Boslough is quoted a few times and he's one of the real life characters in the book, as I wanted to honor him: https://issuu.com/santabarbara....museum/docs/123332_n

You can read the basic Westmont history in full here, if you'd like.

Walking the Bible (book): https://amzn.to/3ykNPFm DVD: https://amzn.to/3QREcFg I read the book ages ago and I recommend it. Bill & I watched the DVD and it was even better in some ways, but didn't have everything in the book. I recommend them both ... or the DVD if you can only get one or the other.

Please remember to keep your remarks respectful and uplifting. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights within those parameters. The more you share, the better this study will be for all of us!J

Please be sure to read the novel before you go further. Otherwise, these lessons will spoil the story for you. I would recommend reading the novel all the way through for the story, then reading each chapter again, more as a study, as we talk about them.

Let's talk about how God's Word is alive and active, and what that means. I'll also explain how to form a cadre (a group with deep Christian community) and how this would benefit you.

In the next video, we'll start getting to know the Scriptures that are used or alluded to in the novel.

Scriptures referred to in this video:
Hebrews 4:12
II Timothy 3:16 (I think I said I Timothy, sorry)
Isaiah 55:11
Psalm 119:11
Psalm 119:105
Psalm 139

Scriptures you should look up (and write out) before the next lesson:
Isaiah 61:1-3
Isaiah 43:18-19
I Thessalonians 5:18
Psalm 45:13
Proverbs 3:5, 6

When you write about them in your workbook or a journal, I'd recommend writing the verse out -- it will help you get it into your heart, especially if you say it out loud as you're writing. If you can, spend a few minutes asking God to show you what HE wants you to see in that verse right now, today. Write it down. Leave space to write about the verse when we get to that place in the story. You'll understand what I mean when we get there. For now, just leave space. If I were doing this in a journal, I would personally use a page for each Scripture or passage.

The pinterest page for this book. https://www.pinterest.com/alyc....ekayr/now-it-will-sp It's not very well organized (okay, not organized at all -- I can either write or organize Pinterest pages, but not both), but it has links to articles related to the topics in Now It Will Spring Forth and also lots of pictures of the places in Santa Barbara where this book takes place. If you find links that you think should be there, please let me know so I can add them.

If you want to share anything about the verses, about anything we've talked about, your own related experiences, or questions for me, please do so in the comments below. Please remember to keep your remarks respectful and uplifting. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights within those parameters. The more you share, the better this study will be for all of us!

Scriptures used in today's video:
James 4:13-17
James 1:22-25
Matthew 8:26
Matthew 14:22-33
I Chronicles 16:11
Isaiah 41:10
Matthew 25:31-46

If you're journaling, write about each of the verses we talk about. Ask God to show you how they apply to your life. He WILL show you, just be patient. These may seem like a haphazard selection of verses, but they will form the undergirding of the story.

Try personalizing the verses, too, as I showed you previously.

Here's a video about the Sea of Galilee that will give you more insights about the Scriptures which involve this huge lake and the things Jesus did there. (It's only 5 minutes, but is a loaded overview.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbGEzxkiPmY There's also a lot of GREAT info in the description box under this video, so don't miss that.

Verses to look up, write, and journal on before the next lesson:
Philippians 4:19
ames 2:14-17
isaiah 40:28-31
James 1:5

When you look up these verses, I'd recommend reading the entire chapter, so you can get them in context. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to what HE wants you to see. Be prepared to share those insights in the comments on the next video. You'll bless others by doing this and it will help you to solidify what you're learning.

As a bonus, choose two of the verses we've looked at so far and think, pray, (and preferably journal) about how those verses relate to each other and to your life.

Scriptures used in today's video:
Romans 12:19
Lamentations 3:22, 23
2 Timothy 2:13
Psalm 119:11
Hebrews 4:12
Isaiah 55:11
Psalm 127:1-2
II Timothy 2:13 - If we are faithless, He remains faithful.

If you're journaling, write about each of the verses we talk about. Ask God to show you how they apply to your life. He WILL show you, just be patient. These may seem like a haphazard selection of verses, but they will form the undergirding of the story.

Try personalizing the verses, too, as I showed you previously.

The clip from The Chosen that I was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enwt-3kQsu4

Great is Thy Faithfulness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErwiBz1QA4o

Your Love Never Fails, You Never Give Up On Me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_KXsMCJgBQ I didn't mention this song, but it's also based partially on Lamentations 3.

By the way, one thing I love to do as I read my Bible is mark little musical notes next to verses that I know songs that are based on. When I'm down, I can flip through my Bible and stop and sing those songs. It really lifts me up!

One of my videos about the Eternal God prayer that I quoted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuyO_ivbyL0

Verses to look up, write, and journal on before the next lesson. Remember to read their context:
Psalm 127:3-5
II Corinthians 12:9
Isaiah 55:8
Isaiah 30:20,21

When you look up these verses, I'd recommend reading the entire chapter, so you can get them in context. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to what HE wants you to see. Be prepared to share those insights in the comments on the next video. You'll bless others by doing this and it will help you to solidify what you're learning.

As a bonus, choose two of the verses we've looked at so far and think, pray, (and preferably journal) about how those verses relate to each other and to your life.

How to slow down or speed up a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tkLmTj0j4k&t=24s

Please remember to keep your remarks respectful and uplifting. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights within those parameters. The more you share, the better this study will be for all of us!

Buddha on Peace of Mind

Early in Buddha's travels he stopped and asked a follower to
get him some water. The follower went to get water, but it was turbid and
dirty. He didn't get the water and returned to Buddha. Buddha accepted that
answer, but 30 minutes later asked the same follower to try again. He did and
now found the water to be clear and brought water back to Buddha. You let the
water settle and can do the same thing for your mind.

I think this might be the most misunderstood aspect of Catholicism by Protestants. (And it's not even the biggest difference.) Why, why, why do we PRAY to Mary and the Saints? Isn't God the only one we should pray to? And isn't Jesus our only intercessor?

There is a followup video with some testimony about how the saints have worked in my life. You can find it here: โฃhttps://crwdview.com/watch/KXCl6DKoD7syiDy

If you're not Catholic and you have any questions about this or other aspects of Catholicism, I'd love to hear your questions. (You can ask questions if you're Catholic, too, of course -- especially if you have questions about Protestantism, as I would also like to clear up misunderstandings in that direction as well.) If I can, I'll answer them. If not, then it's an area I need to learn about and I'll get back to you.

Love you all,Alyce-KaySweetwater, Tennessee, USA

I think it's super important for Protestants to understand what Catholics ACTUALLY believe ... and vice versa. So this is one of my attempts to help you understand this difference between us. One of the big things is that when we say we "pray" to Mary or the saints, we do NOT mean it in the sense of worshiping them, but in the other dictionary definition, which is "to ask." Worshiping Mary or the saints is heresy.

Here's the link to the previous video, which you REALLY need to see before this one: โฃhttps://crwdview.com/watch/oi9u8TUCSbWuAnQ

The video I was suggesting about St Therese: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Qjj9wn77w&t=4292s

Here's a video that explains why they've chosen to give Matthew an autistic personality in The Chosen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-veXCXOzPE4

And a beautiful story of an autistic young lady as a result of this choice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c48gpJBTF7g

If you're not Catholic and you have any questions about this or other aspects of Catholicism, I'd love to hear your questions. If I can, I'll answer them. If not, then it's an area I need to learn about and I'll get back to you. This is not about trying to convert you, but about trying to bring understanding between Catholics and Protestants. In my personal life, I also try to help Catholics clear up their misunderstandings about Protestants and I'll do so on this channel as well, if the need comes up.

Scripture used in today's video:
Joshua 4

Some of the stories of great Christians I would recommend reading would be the YWAM Heroes of the Faith series. Now, yeah, these are written for 4th through 6th graders, but this is just the reading level (i.e., plenty easy for adults). The content is for anyone. I read these as an adult and absolutely ate them up. After that, I read them to my children. You can buy each book individually or get them in sets of 5 different books in the series. I'm giving you the link for one of the sets and you can go from there. Excellent, excellent books! Highly recommend for anyone. https://amzn.to/3vtDWn8

My absolutely hands down favorite missionary story of all time: https://amzn.to/3BrkP0y Bruce Olson is still alive, even after spending months in captivity with Colombian guerillas, as well as other attempts on his life. His story is truly amazing and inspiring.

Nothing can separate you from God's love!

Scriptures used in today's video (read the context, not just the verses):
Romans 8:26-28

Thank you to G Mos for an absolutely fantastic request to show I how I actually use my NISB. I enjoyed this soooo much! I specifically chose II John because, to be honest, I'm not all that familiar with it. Sure, I've read it a number of times, but it has never really impressed me, isn't one of my favorite books (Philippians, James, Isaiah, Proverbs, Psalms), and I couldn't have even told you what it was about -- although I know enough about the Apostle John to have guessed that it had something to do with LOVE. I wanted to show you how I use this on a book that would be relatively fresh to me ... as well as short enough to do in just a few videos. And of course, now I've completely changed my mind about II John: It's short but mighty!

So this is a 3-part series.
Part 2 is here: โฃhttps://crwdview.com/watch/how....-i-use-my-new-induct
Part 3 is here: โฃhttps://crwdview.com/watch/how....-i-use-my-new-induct

I hope you'll get your own Bible out and study along with me -- whether you have this wonderful inductive study Bible or not.

Please also consider sharing in the comments the things that the Holy Spirit points out to you as you study along. You have different things going on your life than I do, so He may highlight different areas or give you different insights.

For a much longer study (I Peter) using this Bible, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys2lSienj10&list=PL-qJGkcLR7n4qff42avWQJMmfGBinU50l

Please understand (this is really important) that I'm not saying truth is relative or that the truth is different for each of us. What I'm saying is that there is sooo much truth in God's Word that none of us has the capacity to highlight all of it at once, and God makes some parts more clear to us or more important to us, depending on where we are at the time and what He wants to show us.

You can see from these articles that there isn't really much agreement as to who the "lady" was, or even if she was a specific lady. Here are a couple articles I found with different views: https://www.khouse.org/articles/2001/335/ and https://www.cbeinternational.o....rg/resources/article

You can find my photo album for this video series here: https://www.facebook.com/AlyceKayRuckelshaus/media_set?set=a.2066138243679973&type=3&uploaded=6 Although it's in Facebook, I'm pretty sure that anyone can look at it and that you don't have to have a Facebook account to do so. Please let me know if you have trouble viewing it.

I write transformational fiction and the first book in my Isaiah Cadre series is available free in ebook form! You can get that here: โฃhttps://dl.bookfunnel.com/es49ch5nyr along with a free subscription to my newsletter. Sometimes, I even include the second book free in one of my newsletters.

Okay, things that I said I'd include links for ...

The New Inductive Study Bible. There are a few different cover options, so I'll send you to one and you can go from there: https://amzn.to/2LMjWG0 This link will take you to an imitation leather cover. I don't recommend the hard cover. This is a book you will be writing in -- that's the purpose of this particular study Bible -- and it's hard to write in a hardback book. Likewise, a paperback will not hold up to a lot of writing. If you can't afford the imitation leather, I would personally recommend the paperback as it will be easier to use than the hardback. You'll just have to replace it sooner, probably, and that's not the end of the world, right?

As I said, I don't recommend the pens I was using. They're just what I had immediately available. AND if using something that's not ideal is going to get you studying the Bible, then by all means, use what's less than ideal. But if possible, for the long-term, I recommend using highlighters that are made especially for the thin pages of the Bible and which you'll be able to write on top of. I like these ones: https://amzn.to/2LILIDq A second option would be good old colored pencils. Here's a nice set of 12, or pick them up and just about any store: https://amzn.to/2LLdNKy

Scriptures used in today's video (read the context, not just the verses):
Matthew 5:6
Matthew 18:19-20
Matthew 25:31-40
Ephesians 3:20, 21

If you're journaling, write about each of the verses we talk about. Ask God to show you how they apply to your life. He WILL show you, just be patient. These may seem like a haphazard selection of verses, but they will form the undergirding of the story.

Try personalizing the verses, too, as I showed you previously.

โฃ This is the book that we're using: Now It Will Spring Forth.

Verses to look up, write, and journal on before the next lesson. Remember to read their context:
I Peter 3:7
Philippians 4:19
Psalm 139
Psalm 103:13, 14

When you look up these verses, I'd recommend reading the entire chapter, so you can get them in context. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to what HE wants you to see. Be prepared to share those insights in the comments on the next video. You'll bless others by doing this and it will help you to solidify what you're learning.

As a bonus, choose two of the verses we've looked at so far and think, pray, (and preferably journal) about how those verses relate to each other and to your life.

Mahlikah The Moonrise Poet
27 Views ยท 2 years ago

For our latest iteration, we bring together four Indigenous female poets to speak their truth in the sixth edition of the CBC Arts series Poetic License. When it comes to Black liberation and Indigenous sovereignty, Afro-Indigenous artist Mahlikah The Moonrise Poet is done debating. In this poem entitled DON'T SPEAK, Mahlikah's colonial critique is direct and biting with lines like "you buried our stories like you buried our children" โ€” yet she still manages to invite reconciliation and healing. Mahlikah started writing the poem in 2018 for the Louder than a Bomb Toronto Slam Finals, but its intentions shifted when Cree elder Vern Harper passed away before it was finished.
