Motivation
Those of us who aren't Roman Catholic but want to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, might find the thought of using a rosary mysterious ... daunting ... confusing ... and possibly even troubling. In this video, I'm going to go over the mechanics of using a rosary to say this powerful prayer. (PS, Since recording this, I've become Catholic.)
If you have any questions, please feel free to write them in the comments. I've planned a series on the Chaplet and telling me your questions will help me to know what you're wondering about. This prayer has become incredibly meaningful for me and I'd love to share it with you. I hope you'll come to love it as I do, and that it will draw you ever closer, with gratitude and confidence, to Jesus.
If you don't have a rosary, God gave you the perfect tool: your fingers! Your ten fingers will help you count a decade. When I'm without a rosary, I move my wedding ring along the fingers of one hand to keep track of the five decades. Welcome to the video series to study of "Kingdom Now: Pursuing Unity in the Body of Christ to Change the World." This video introduces Lesson 6. Scriptures referenced in this video:Eph. 4:11-1318John 20:20-23John 8:1-11Please note: We didn't realize until we were recording this that we had very different views on John 20:20-23 and that I really don't feel comfortable endorsing the view Pat expressed. This is an example of how we can have differences of opinion about things, especially unclear verses in Scripture, but still love one another and work together for the furtherance of the Kingdom. My belief on this is that not every believer is given the authority to forgive or not forgive in such a way that those positions are reflected in Heaven. Rather, I believe that authority was given first to the Apostles and then to those determined to carry on their ministry by the laying on of hands. My concern is that the belief that "any Christian can offer absolution" would mean that a less mature Christian could keep someone from being forgiven in Heaven. Rather, Jesus would have entrusted this responsibility to those who are proven in their godliness and maturity, approved by the laying on of hands. I also became Catholic since recording this with Pat, and I have to say that the Catholic view does exactly what we were looking for: It cultivates a culture of grace, accepting that we all sin, sin is taken seriously, we confess to a priest (and in the Mass, we confess generally to one another), who lovingly takes it very seriously, and we receive absolution (and sometimes counsel). Either view (Pat's or mine at that time) could be perceived from reading this verse. What do you think? As children we have no filter and absord everything in our envirnonment until we're 6 to 8 years old. You've picked up all the ways the adults in your life act and respond. You see when an adult says one thing and does another or how they guilt others into getting they're own way. These scripts are running in the background of your life. You have to decide what is yours, what you want to keep or discard.

These are the final 10 days of an Easter to Pentecost study, but this part stands alone, as we prepare to recommit ourselves to the filling of the Holy Spirit. In order to be filled, we must first be emptied. In this chat, let's talk about the good and bad side of things -- emptying ourselves of the bad, or even the good that can become more important to us than God -- in order to make more room for the Holy Spirit.

(You can make this as deep as you want -- See further "assignments" below.)Evening and morning was the third day in our new series -- a Bible overview, using the right and left sides of our brain. Yes, we're coloring (using the right side of our brains) while we talk about (using the left side of our brains) the Bible story, how it relates to other parts of Scripture, and how it relates to our lives and our world.
The Bible stories are important for us so that we can understand the rest of the Bible and know how to live our lives for Christ.
I had Alexa's help keeping this shorter. Tell me what you think about doing it this way. (Be careful not to hurt Alexa's feelings, please.) Also, if you have an Alexa, is this causing you any problems? (Does yours wake up and start talking when she hears me say "Alexa"? Please let me know.)

Your assignment:1) Read Genesis 3.2) Write down in a few words what strikes you from that chapter. 3) Ask God to show you why He made that stand out to you.4) Write down 3 things (insights, facts, questions, ideas, things to do) that you want to hold onto.5) What are 3 things you want to pray about this? (Thanking God, asking for His forgiveness, asking for His help? etc)6) Write down something you learned about God from Genesis 3.7) Write down something you learned about yourself (or people in general) from Genesis 3.8)
Write down one thing that you want to change in your life as a result of Genesis 3 (it's okay if it's really small - all those small things will add up).
If you don't already have a notebook or journal to write in, I'd highly recommend that you get one. You're going to want to go back and read all your notes someday! Or another option ... Get a big manila envelope. Write your insights, prayers, etc on scraps of paper -- be sure to date them -- and keep them in that envelope.

This is the final ten days of a longer project, but stands well on its own, as we talked about emptying ourselves in preparation for the Day of Pentecost. In this series, we prepare to recommit ourselves to the filling of the Holy Spirit. In order to be filled, we must first be emptied. We're into our second day in our new series -- a Bible overview, using the right and left sides of our brain. Yes, we're coloring (using the right side of our brains) while we talk about (using the left side of our brains) the Bible story, how it relates to other parts of Scripture, and how it relates to our lives and our world. The Bible stories are important for us so that we can understand the rest of the Bible and know how to live our lives for Christ. I had Alexa's help keeping this shorter. Tell me what you think about doing it this way. (Be careful not to hurt Alexa's feelings, please.)
Your assignment (either/or):
1) Find at least one other passage in Scripture that relates in some way to Genesis 2. Feel free to Google, use a concordance, a cross reference Bible, or anything else. You can even ask someone for help.
AND/OR
2) Write down how you're going to apply something from Genesis 2 to your life.

Here's the quote I was talking about, attributed to Matthew Henry (the Bible commentator from the 17th century), but the article I found it in said that it originated with St Augustine: "The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved."

Despite humanity’s technological developments and will to progress, we’re still utterly dependent on nature. Human effort has its limitations and is always in conjunction with nature. We cannot grow a plant, for example, completely isolated from natural growth, even though we can influence and manipulate it.The reputed author of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu, stated that the world governs itself. It doesn’t need our intervention. As Lao Tzu wrote: “When you arrive at non-action, nothing will be left undone.” End quote. This idea resembles the basic understanding of the paradoxical concept “wu-wei.” But when we look for a definition of wu-wei, we quickly discover that there isn’t one fixed meaning.Some translate wu-wei as “non-action,” or “doing nothing,” others as “actionless action,” and others as “effortless action.”We find out that Taoism offers several layers, if you will, regarding how wu-wei can enhance our relationship with the world.
