The old Twitter was riddled with these kinds of scams. They would follow you and if you followed them back, they would direct message you with their scam.

One poor elderly woman was in a hospital bed dying asking for money. I got that same picture several times over 5 years.

One young woman was asking for college money. She also showed up for years never getting a day older.

Let's not forget about the Prince or two or three who just couldn't live without me.

I really feel bad for people who do get taken advantaged of. They are trying to help and the scammer on the other end of the line just couldn't care less how much damage they are doing to them.
