God is My Father! We Believe: Part 4, The Apostle's Creed

Is God my Father ... or is He Jesus' Father? Let's take a quick look at this in Scripture (although there are many, many verses about this). Look at the Lord's Prayer (also known as the Our Father): Luke 11:1-4 and Matthew 6:9-13. What does that tell you about whose Father God is? Also read Romans 8:15. What does this tell you about what kind of Father He is? (Abba is like Daddy.)If you'd like to get more from this, read these verses and think about (or write about) what they show you about God as Father:Psalm 68:5Psalm 103:13Psalm 139Isaiah 64:8Malachi 2:10John 14:9-11Romans 8:29II Corinthians 1:3-4II Corinthians 8:6James 1:17How does this affect your relationship with God? How does it affect your relationship with others? Who is someone you haven't been looking at as a brother or sister, or potential brother and sister? How does knowing that God is our Father affect how you should think of them and act toward them?I hope that you're journaling or discussing this with someone as we go through the Creed. You'll get so much more out of this, that way. And please remember to tell your brothers and sisters in Christ how this affected you in the comments below.I really do believe that the best way to learn something is to do it over and over. We've become such consumers that we don't like to use something more than once. Rather than going through a whole bunch of Bible studies, how much more will you get from doing the same one until you've mastered it?
