In this video from Know Your World (www.ashleyshandmade.com) Tom shares a technique to harvest microbes from the rootstock of old healthy trees. These microbes are then brewed and added to your garden to balance your soils. Note this is a different process than compost tea- this process does not require aeration because it is a fermentation process that grows bacteria. In compost tea, they need to remove the compost from the microbes through aeration in order to get the microbes in liquid form. In this process we are creating microbes in a liquid form from the beginning and they have their food source (molasses) to keep them growing.
