Most people don't realize that when they do a registration they are giving title to the registrar. When you register a birth, a car, or anything you have bought, you have given title to the registrar. That is why you have to pay registration fees every year for your vehicle because you are no longer the owner. When you register a child's birth, you have given that child to the state. That is why they can take your child from you if they do not agree with how you are raising them. Registering your marriage has a similar effect. That is why you have to pay to get divorced!
