RFK Jr. gets into fiery exchange with Sen. Sanders on Big Pharma contributions in congress
(credits: New York Post) "President Trump and Mr. Kennedy are quite right when they say that our system is broken," said Sen. Bernie Sanders.
"Our economic system is broken," Sanders (I-Vt.) began. "A handful of billionaires in both political parties ... that is a broken system."
"Our health care system is broken," he went on. "We have not paid attention to the massive amounts of chronic disease."
"If we want to make America healthy, will you ... guarantee health care to every single American citizen?" asked Sanders.
RFK Jr. began to answer before noting to "Bernie" that "the corruption is in Congress" as well.
The suggestion led to an argument between the two about who had taken more corporate or pharmaceutical money during their respective presidential campaigns.
"Not one nickel," Sanders protested, "of corporate PAC money."
RFK Jr. claimed the Democratic socialist was the "single largest receiver of pharmaceutical money" during the 2020 campaign.
