Also, beware of false charities that ask for a land donation or for you to will your property to them. Some fake charities have names that sound very similar to legitimate, well known ones. www.charitywatch.org is a good place to check first before making any donations.

I wonder if the ads I see on TV concerning Reverse Mortgages targeted at the elderly, a part of this?

They attack the weak. They won't loose. Think about it, they can know all your medical history and predict their gain. Good point!
